ROB EATON DIRECTOR
Rob Eaton created the Second To None Soccer club in 2002 after spending 14 years as a successful College Coach. Eaton's goal was to solidify player development in the North Central Pennsylvania region by offering a professional year-round curriculum of non-political training opportunities. With a name change to - the Soccer Training Network in 2008 STN is now a respected leader in player development that sends both male and female players onto the college ranks in ever increasing numbers and serves as a quality support system to all levels of soccer across the region. In 2010 Eaton was also named the Head Women's Coach at Clarion University.
As an All American player at Lock Haven University and then as the Head Coach at both Lycoming College and Lock Haven - Eaton has not only played with; played in front of; and coached our area's youngsters, but he has also inspired them to further their own soccer playing and coaching careers with not only his immense knowledge, but also with his love and spirit for the game. Well over two dozen of Eaton’s former players are now themselves respected coaches at both the High School and College levels across the country, and all veteran SECOND TO NONE campers will inform you of an enjoyable and rewarding soccer experience under his guidance.
Eaton has served as the Head men's soccer coach at California University of PA, men's and women's head soccer coach at Lycoming College, the head men's coach at Methodist College in N.C. and the head men's coach at Lock Haven University.
Eaton’s soccer education was a rich one in England where he was rated one of the very best young players in the Nation, just missing out on the National team in 1979. He was invited to tryouts with several Pro teams and gained the benefit of phenomenal coaching at such places as Nottingham Forest, Leeds United, Leicester City, Derby County and the English Youth Team before deciding to join Notts County Football Club. While continuing his schooling Eaton played four years for the Magpies and was the leading goal-scorer in the Youth team and a significant player in the midlands club reserve team.Indeed, prior to coming to the U.S. Eaton played soccer in several countries while suiting up for County and considers himself privileged to have been trained by some of the best coaches in the world. In 2000 he was named one of LHU’s top 25 players of the century.
Eaton has accumulated over 140 collegiate victories and was named collegecoach of the year three times at the NCAA Div II and Div III level. He has coached three players to the NCAA All America teams and won conference and league titles at the last three institutions that he was the head coach. With an ever increasing talent pool joining STN soccer on a yearly basis, Eaton directs all aspects of training and player development.
